Tijani Ben Al Hussein wins the Platinium Grand Prize for South-South Cooperation at the Attijariwafa Bank Group International Forum in Casablanca
Tijani Ben Al Hussein, Chairman and CEO of Mauritanian junior oil company Star Oil, is showcasing his leadership. He has just won the Platinuim Grand Prize in the South-South Cooperation category, on the fringes of the 7th edition of the International Africa Development Forum of the Moroccan banking group AttijariWafa Bank, held from 27 to 28 June in Casablanca, Morocco.
Tijani Ben Al Hussein has just added another award to his list of honours. He is Chairman and CEO of the Mauritanian junior hydrocarbon company Star Oil Groupe. The company, which is emerging from the pack, has continued to expand in the West African sub-region and even in Central Africa, mainly in Chad, where it has established a foothold, and is an example of success story in a tough competitive context where international oil firms are dictating their law on the market. Tijani Ben Al Hussein received the Platinuim Grand Prize in front of an audience of leading figures from the financial and banking world in Africa and the West. The Secretary General of Zlecaf and a number of political decision-makers and experienced economic operators also took part in this major event organised by the Moroccan banking major AttijariWafa Bank. There were 9 finalists in the running, including 3 winners. Tijani Ben Al Hussein further confirms his leadership on the continental scene by winning this Grand Prix Platinuim in Casablanca, following on from the ‘Prize for Entrepreneurship’ awarded to him on 22 May 2022 by the Prime Minister of Mali, Choguel Kokala MAIGA, at a Forum held in Bamako.
This high distinction awarded today in Casablanca to the Mauritanian businessman is the culmination of a long process built around the triptych: work, a good business plan and an inclusive vision for the future.
